Monthly Community Highlight: Bridgeland

This month I’m profiling a neighbourhood I’ve been spending a lot of time in recently – the historic community of Bridgeland! Located in the most ideal spot to build a community, off Memorial Drive and 1 Avenue NE, you get the best of family neighbourhoods while being walking distance to downtown.

One of Calgary’s original communities, annexed in 1910, is well known for its character homes and proximity to the Calgary Zoo, Telus Spark and St. Patrick’s Island. The last two decades has seen a tremendous resurgence in Bridgeland, thanks to its awesome community association and volunteers, with ground-breaking projects to promote it as a social and cultural destination. The efforts resulting in Bridgeland being named Calgary’s Best Neighbourhood for 2017.

Home to approximately 5500 Calgarians, it was one of the first settled communities in Calgary for immigrants, particularly of German and Italian descent, and you can still see it in the existing architecture. Historic old homes and European shops & restaurants still dominate the landscaping, complimenting the view of downtown, the Bow River Valley and Rocky Mountains.

Bridgeland is an amazingly unique community with so much to offer you and your family. You can learn more about the city demographics here. Join me on Facebook and Google for more about all things real estate!
