Monthly Community Highlight: McKenzie Lake

I’ve been profiling communities in Calgary and this month we are going to visit McKenzie Lake. An awesome area, built in 1982, that includes one of my own revenue properties and where I take advantage of the lake-life in both summer and winter!

You can find this charming neighbourhood off Deerfoot and McKenzie Lake Blvd. in the SE and you will find home running an average of $585,000, making it an affordable option for most. There are approximately 13,925 residents, the majority being families with children, who enjoy all the benefits that McKenzie Lake has to offer. There is an abundance of single-family homes in various prices ranges along with many condo-living options.

The signature feature of this community is obviously the lake. A 43-acre beauty combined with an 18-acre park with waterfront homes for those really wanting to take advantage of the lake lifestyle. With loads of watersports & sports programs in the summer and skating with firepits in the winter, it offers yea- round family fun. It is important to note that not all homes in McKenzie Lake have access to the lake so, if it is important to you make sure the property you purchase is within the lake-access boundaries.

There are also all the services you could need with the McKenzie Towne shops close by and the South Trail Crossing shopping district – with all the shops and amenities you can think of – a short drive away. And with easy access to Deerfoot and Stoney Trail, you can be downtown or in the mountains in no time!
